Leadership positions are determined by the Band Director(s) each year, and often require a special assignment or project to display interest or commitment to the role as well as observed skills necessary to fulfil the tasks. Drum Majors are chosen through a thorough application and audition process, including input from the entire band and private interviews with the Director(s).

What are the expectations for student leaders?
Drum Majors, Section Leaders, and Rank Captains are expected to be outstanding examples to those they lead and familiarize themselves with fellow, especially new, band members to welcome them into the "family." They will be recognized as the "Leadership Team" and it is expected that these students also step up for unscheduled performances.
